I decided to tap into my interest in weird, scary, unsettling things for my zine project. It is funny because I like scary things but I assure you that I am just as scared of them too. My favorite piece in this zine-making process has to be my hulk-zombie!! I can’t lie, my worst fear is zombies due to being exposed to The Walking Dead WAY too early. But it ended up way cooler than I was expecting. Now to get into the beginning of my process, I had a whole concept going on for telling a story. A story of a robot girl and a real human but, I quickly realized that I did not have enough time and this was way harder than I intended it to be. I normally tend to be more of a hands-on type of artist, so it was really cool to see what I could create with a mouse and computer screen. It definitely isn't my favorite tithing to do, but was a fun experience. However, I guess what really inspired me was the first little page I made– It said “Your perception of me is a reflection of you.” I really like this quote because I completely agree. We don't always see others as they truly are but rather as we perceive them based on our own inner world. At the end of the day, no one truly knows anyone. The only person you can truly know is yourself. And that's why I kind of focused on faces and eyes. Eyes see things. Faces and expressions can always be interpreted in a number of ways. It's up to you what you see and what you think. Next time, I'd hope I had more time to really create exactly what I wanted. I think I was successful, but there was so much more that could have been done.
